Doctor in Custody After Wife Dies From Alleged Knife Attack in Kiambu Home
Dr. Dennis Masoba Nyambane, a Consultant General Surgeon for the Kiambu County Government stationed primarily at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital, is in custody for allegedly stabbing his wife, Mary Mwende Mutie, to death with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute at their apartment in Kiambu.
The incident occurred inside their apartment, where the family had reportedly lived for only about two weeks. According to reports, Dr. Masoba Nyambane attacked her inside their home with a kitchen knife, inflicting a fatal stab wound to the heart.
Mary attempted to escape down the building’s staircase but collapsed and died at the scene. Bloodstains on the staircase indicated that she tried to flee the house before collapsing.
Following the incident, Dr. Masoba was arrested, taken into custody, and presented yesterday, August 10, 2026, before a Kiambu court, where investigators requested more time to compile evidence and complete the murder investigation.
Dr. Dennis Masoba Nyambane will be detained for seven days and also undergo a mandatory psychiatric evaluation. His wife left behind a three-year-old son.
